Kelly Rowland | Video Premiere, “Kisses Down Low”
Kelly Rowland finally gives us her version of “Kisses Down Low,” the latest single for her upcoming (recently changed) album, Talk A Good Game (release date TBA). The video doesn’t actually feature any kissing (or anything “down low” for that matter), but I’m in LOVE with Kelly’s take on the video concept. Directed by Colin Tilley, Kelly is seen all done-up in various outfits, hair, and makeup. She even does a Marilyn Monroe! The clip exudes color and personality. I’ve never seen Kelly shine so much before; I feel like I know her a little better now. In a behind-the-scenes clip, Rowland says:
I’m so excited about this video. The theme is fun and flirty and pinup. The makeup is poppin’, the hair is poppin’, the styling is so cool, but it feels just really flirty. I wanted to bring that out of the song instead of making it as racy.
I cannot get enough of the playful direction of the Mike WILL Made it-produced track. Rowland could have easily made another seductive, sultry video like “Motivation” and “ICE,” but she did the unexpected instead. I rate this video 3.5 out of 5 stars.
P.S. Don’t forget to buy “Kisses Down Low” on iTunes! (Another plug for Kelly since she obviously hasn’t tweeted enough about it).
